The RH Cloud chair is the single-seat version of the most copied sofa of the decade: oversized, low and deep, with wide square arms and loose feather cushions that slump into a soft, lived-in shape. It starts at about $3,900. These Amazon chairs bring the same sink-in cloud look home for a small fraction of that.

The Original
RH's oversized feather-filled lounge chair.
The RH Cloud Chair is the single-seat version of RH's famous Cloud sofa: an oversized, low lounge chair with wide square arms that sit level with a low back, a deep loose seat cushion, a loose back cushion and scatter pillows, all on an upholstered base with the feet hidden underneath. The cushions are feather-filled, so they slump into a soft, lived-in shape, and it comes in a choice of depths and fabrics, most famously white linen.
The Alternatives
Oversized chairs with wide low arms and deep loose cushions.
GDFStudio 50" Oversized Cloud Accent Chair, White Chenille
The GDFStudio is the cloud chair we would buy in place of the RH Cloud. It is 50 inches wide with a 42.5-inch-wide, 32-inch-deep seat, so there is room to sit cross-legged or curl up sideways, and the arms are wide and low with loose pillows on top. The seat blends high-density foam with cotton fill, the seat and back cushions come off, and the white chenille has a soft, textured feel. The frame is poplar, pine and plywood and holds up to 330 pounds. It stands on 2-inch legs where the RH Cloud hides its feet, and its foam cushions hold a neater shape than the RH Cloud's feathers.

GDFStudio 47.2" Oversized Skirted Cloud Chair with Charging Ports, White
This GDFStudio has a tailored skirt that drops to the floor, so it has the relaxed slipcovered look the RH Cloud is known for. The seat is 36.5 inches wide and 25.9 inches deep, with two loose cushions and two oversized pillows over high-density foam on a pine frame. The arms curve slightly at the front, and a small USB and USB-C port sits discreetly in the side for a phone.
Best For
A white living room that wants a chair with a soft, slipcovered feel.
Pairs Well With
Linen curtains, a jute rug and a low wood coffee table.
HUSFU 50" Oversized Chenille Cloud Chair, Beige
The HUSFU is the most reviewed chair here and every bit as big as the RH Cloud: 49.5 inches across, with a 35.4-inch-wide seat and 12.2-inch-wide padded arms. The thick seat cushion, back pillow and arms are all overstuffed, so it looks generous and soft from every angle. The solid wood frame holds up to 650 pounds, it ships in one box and it sets up in under 20 minutes.
Best For
Sharing the chair with a child, a partner or a dog.
Pairs Well With
Warm white walls, a brass floor lamp and an oatmeal pouf.
ABCASA 47" Oversized Linen Accent Chair, Oatmeal
The ABCASA is the closest to the RH Cloud's linen look: an oatmeal linen-blend chair with crisp, 8-inch-wide sloped arms and a 7-inch-thick seat cushion with springs inside, rated medium on softness. The seat and back covers zip off for washing, which matters on a pale chair. The seat is 31 inches wide and 23 inches deep, and it stands on short black block feet where the RH Cloud's feet are hidden.
Best For
A home with kids or pets that wants a pale chair it can keep clean.
Pairs Well With
A sage green throw pillow and a dark wood side table.
Cloud Chairs With an Ottoman
The cloud chair look with a matching footrest.
LUXSeatful 41" Oversized Chenille Chair with Ottoman
RH sells a matching Cloud ottoman, and the LUXSeatful comes with one. The chair has square arms, loose seat and back cushions and plush pillows in a soft coffee chenille, with 32D foam over pocket springs in the seat. Pull the ottoman up and it becomes a lounger 56.7 inches long. Short tapered wood legs lift it slightly off the floor.
Best For
Putting your feet up for a movie without buying two pieces.
Pairs Well With
A chunky knit blanket and a small round side table.
Furnimart 44" Oversized Cloud Chair with Storage Ottoman, Beige
The Furnimart pairs a chunky beige chenille chair with a matching ottoman that opens for storage, with room for about four pillows and a blanket. The chair has pillow-topped square arms and a plush seat of high-density foam and cotton over springs on a solid wood frame. Together the two pieces stretch 60.3 inches, long enough to lie back and read.
Best For
Small apartments that need a lounge chair and somewhere to hide the throws.
Pairs Well With
A woven floor basket and a cream boucle pillow.
